[scene: two friends, Alex and Sophia are hanging out. They are good friends just talking while sitting on Sophia’s bed.]
[Characters: Sophia is a stereotypical girl. Her tone in this situation is defensive or concerned. Alex isn’t very smart, often clueless.]

ALEX
[looking down at cell phone]

Trisha likes you!

[looks up]

SOPHIA
Trisha…?

ALEX
The only guy with that name on the entire planet

SOPHIA
Poor kid, who names their son Trisha?!

ALEX
Roger and Carol Migdrew

SOPHIA
They sound like normal people to me

ALEX
Yeah, except Roger is his mom’s name, and Carol is his dad’s.

SOPHIA
And they have to take it out on their son.. [shakes her head]

ALEX
[laughs]
Well do you like him? He’s asking.

SOPHIA
Are you kidding me? Like, if we named our daughter after him!

[imitating child]
“yeah, I’m named after my dad.”

[back to real voice]
Uh! Awful.

ALEX
Whoa! You’re not getting married! He’s a kid with a crush on you!

SOPHIA
Of course we’re not getting married! Like, seriously, are we ten? Who gets their friend to ask
who they like these days?!

ALEX
Not me. [nods his head] ha that’s. for sure.

SOPHIA
Doesn't he only goes for the prettiest girls in school?

ALEX
That’s not a compliment to you?
SOPHIA
What about my personality? Or my… my goals in life.

ALEX
Which would be...?

SOPHIA
[hesitating] well...ya know...

ALEX
come on, don't go so deep into this. live your life how you choose, if it seems right ...go for it!

SOPHIA
[astonished] wow, that was...really philosophical for a guy like you.

ALEX
that's an insult !

SOPHIA
whooo! 2 points for Alex!

ALEX

SOPHIA
[smiles] I'm only joking!

ALEX
[mumbles] I can be smart-ish..sometimes

SOPHIA

ALEX
Are you gunna answer this guys question. Cuz he’s re-sent this text about 13 times now! I’m about to punch him in the face! …. Via cell phone.

SOPHIA
Well that doesn’t make sense!

ALEX

SOPHIA
Just tell him I’m not interested. Besides, well there’s this... other guy. and like, I kinda like him.
[leans into Alex, hinting she likes him]

ALEX
[looks up thoughtfully]
Ya know… Trisha has a sister!

SOPHIA
[rolls eyes] Oh brother.

ALEX
She’s lucky. Terry can be a boy aaand a girls name and! she’s hot!


[texting out loud, sometimes talking slower than other times] Dude, she's definately into you. what. do. you. sayyy. we all go out sometime. You....Sophia......and me and Terry!

SOPHIA
